John Trumbull – Male Nude From Behind

With this post I am starting a new category on the blog – Art In Museums. In it I will share art I find on museum websites that is worth sharing.

In a search to find interesting websites related to bridges, I stumbled on the website for the Crystal Bridges Museum Of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas tonight (Saturday, November 9th, 2019 at around 7 p.m.). I began exploring one of it’s collections and I found this striking sketch of a male nude by John Trumbull drawn in circa 1798 that I think is great and would like to share for anyone interested to view it.

I have digitally enhanced the image above for better contrast over the original image. You can see the original image at Crystal Bridges Museum Of American Art by clicking here.
