Exit 51 – Photo #1

I’m starting a new blog photo project with this post. It’s called “Exit 51″… because it’s the exit I commute to and get off of I-85 for work. Sometimes I like to snap a photo of the view below the overpass when I go over. There’s no big significance to this project other than it’s just a spot on the highway I travel frequently. I think though that if I keep this project up, it might be fun to look back through the photos to view the traffic and weather changes captured. This photo was shot on Tuesday, December 10th, 2019 at 6:40 AM CST.

MUDPIX MAGAZINE Website Updates Postponed Tonight

Just a quick announcement. I am not feeling well tonight. I recently mentioned that I am experiencing pain in my lower back. Tonight the pain has flared up again. With that said, the last thing I feel like doing is hovering over my laptop to make updates such as the Photo Of The Day. I will catch up with that series as soon as I can. Any other updates that I make will be strictly from my phone.

Tonight in Alabama the weather will be in the 30’s. I’m going to relax in my easy chair as much as possible and read a book and probably will turn in to bed early.

The Latest Website Updates At MUDPIX MAGAZINE On Sunday, December 1st, 2019

2019-12-01-SU @ 8:39 PM CST – Hope everyone has had a great Thanksgiving holiday. I know I enjoyed it with some time outdoors which allowed me to get new photos that will go into MUDPIX MAGAZINE. Let’s take a look at some updates from the last week. I’ve added a new Nintendo page to the website. On it you’ll find a list of all the games I own on my Nintendo Switch. MUDPIX MAGAZINE is currently on sale at 50% off until Sunday, December 8th, 2019 using discount code “thanks19”. Get it at gumroad.com/mudpix. I’m planning on starting some photo editing for Issue #2 tomorrow evening. The Photo Of The Day which normally runs at 6 a.m. each morning will be postponed tomorrow. I’ve had a very busy time over the last few days and have been dealing with some back pain and haven’t really felt like making post scheduling a priority for POTD. I apologize to everyone who looks forward to seeing those early morning posts on my website. I will get tomorrow’s Photo Of The Day posted tomorrow evening. Tonight I think I’m going to download Krita, an open source digital art software and see what it’s all about. I need to blow the dust off my Wacom Bamboo drawing tablet.

Photo Of The Day #29 Sunday, December 1st, 2019

Digging into some of my old files and going back to 2013 to a photo shot with my then current camera, the Samsung SGH-T889, otherwise known as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. This is a scenery shot of the Lower Glass Recreation area on West Point Lake in Troup County, Georgia. It was shot on Thursday, October 11th, 2013. This is a photo of some red berries in a tree near Lower Glass Bridge. I wasn’t expecting much out of this shot when I prepared to do the editing on it, but I love all the colors and how the sunshine captured coming through the trees highlights everything.

The following passage was originally published in Photo Of The Day from this particular series of photos taken on Thursday, October 11th, 2013. It is included for viewers who haven’t read it in previous posts:

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was my first cellphone from the Note series by Samsung. That phone and it’s camera gave me the technology I needed during that time to enjoy taking some decent nature shots around the lakes. What you are seeing here is a step back in time to when I really started “documenting” the scenery on a regular basis around the lakes. Anything before that was really just snapshots for fun mostly as I would go out and take photos, but really had no idea what I would do with them. It would be 2016 when I got my Canon SX410 that took my photography to a new level and gave me the motivation to start selling my work in my self published photo magazine, MUDPIX MAGAZINE.

Photo Of The Day #28 Saturday, November 30th, 2019

This photo was taken on Saturday, August 31st, 2019 during the weekend before Labor Day. It is just 1 of 516 photos taken on that day. Camera used is a Canon SX410. This is a small trail at Goat Rock Dam that you have to walk in order to get a good view of the dam. Over the years it has grown up. It’s sad that the park owners don’t maintain the property better than they do since it is open to the public. One must always be on the lookout for snakes when walking through these woods. If you can make the hike, there is a nice view of the old dam waiting for you at the end.

Photo Of The Day #26 Thursday, November 28th, 2019

Digging into some of my old files and going back to 2013 to a photo shot with my then current camera, the Samsung SGH-T889, otherwise known as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. This is a scenery shot of the Lower Glass Recreation area on West Point Lake in Troup County, Georgia. The view you see in this photo is looking out across the water on West Point Lake from Lower Glass Bridge. I was standing in the middle of the bridge when I took this photo. You can’t tell it in this photo, but in the far distance is where West Point Lake Dam is located. This view point is the farthest view away from the dam that I know of where you can see to the other side of the lake where the dam is located. Some spectacular photos can be taken here during the right conditions throughout the day if you have time to spend there. It’s one of my favorite places to take my camera. It was shot on Thursday, October 11th, 2013.
