Thanks for viewing this Day Trip post. If you aren’t already familiar with my content on this site regarding my Day Trip posts, here’s a quick intro…
I have been into photography for a long time and my primary interest with my camera work is outdoor candid photography which includes nature, wildlife, and people around the lakes in Georgia and Alabama. I bought my first “good” camera in 2016 and using it pretty much solidified my interests in photography. Before then, it was basically just cellphone photography that I did (mostly for fun and because all I had was my cellphone cameras). This site is my “journal” of photography served in the form of my self published digital (pdf) magazines. The magazines start from the very beginning of my photography with my “good” camera (which is Canon’s SX410 bridge camera for those interested to know). Since the magazines are focused on my older photography (for now until I catch up on all the editing of thousands of photos that are going into these magazines) I thought it would be nice to start these Day Trip posts to highlight my more recent photography that would be coming up in later issues of the magazines.
So how this works is with each Day Trip post, I’ll provide the date, maybe a few short paragraphs about my photography on that day and then show you a few photos taken on that date. The photos shown to you in these Day Trip posts are intended to give you an idea of the type of photography I love to do, and to allow you some previews of photography that you will see in MUDPIX MAGAZINE, my self published photo magazine. I think you’ll enjoy the work I have to show you if you love outdoor photography.
So let’s get started with this Day Trip post featuring photos I shot on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 with a few notes about the trip that day.
This day trip had a weird start. I had planned to leave out very early in the morning to get out on the lake to take some new photos. I even got up at 4 a.m. I spent the whole morning, and part of the afternoon however making some new updates on my website and didn’t get rolling out of the house until around 2:00 in the afternoon. There was rain forecasted so when I realized that, I wasn’t certain that I would actually go on a day trip on this day, which is why I spent time updating my website, but I did, and I got some nice photos that I’m glad I was able to get. I went to Long Cane Park, West Overlook, and West Point Lake Dam on this day trip.
I captured a ton of photos (178 in all) that will appear in a future issue of MUDPIX MAGAZINE. Take a look at some of the highlights from my day trip on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 below.
