Alabama Waterfalls On Facebook

After realizing I follow more facebook pages and groups for outdoor activities than I can keep track of, I’ve decided to kick off a new blog category to post and list some of the best ones I know. This hopefully will help me keep up with my favorite groups as time permits, and also give me a chance to tell you about them so you may also join and enjoy them.

Alabama Waterfalls is a group with over 24,000 members dedicated to posting photos of beautiful waterfalls in Alabama.

Click here to visit and join the group.

Tell them MUDPIX MAGAZINE recommended it.

Exit 51 – Photo #1

I’m starting a new blog photo project with this post. It’s called “Exit 51″… because it’s the exit I commute to and get off of I-85 for work. Sometimes I like to snap a photo of the view below the overpass when I go over. There’s no big significance to this project other than it’s just a spot on the highway I travel frequently. I think though that if I keep this project up, it might be fun to look back through the photos to view the traffic and weather changes captured. This photo was shot on Tuesday, December 10th, 2019 at 6:40 AM CST.

Update: Friday, May 8th, 2020. I did not keep up with this photo project like I had wanted to. This photo remains for now. It may be removed in the future in favor of a new project.

Get JOYRIDE MAGAZINE While It’s Still Free

It’s here! The first issue of JOYRIDE. It’s the free digital (pdf) magazine featuring my traffic photography. This issue contains 787 full page traffic photos taken on Friday, May 31st, 2019 throughout Opelika, and Auburn Alabama. Also features bonus close up photos highlighting my favorite shots in this joyride. Spend some time with me out on the road through my photography and see what I saw. Due to it’s file size, this issue is only available for an undetermined limited time. Download it now while it’s still available for free. In the near future a purchase option will be the only way to get it. Check back soon for issue #2.

Head over to the official post to download.

Day Trip – Friday, April 26th, 2019

Thanks for viewing my first Day Trip post. If you aren’t already familiar with my content on this site, here’s a quick intro…

I have been into photography for a long time and my primary interest with my camera work is outdoor candid photography which includes nature, wildlife, and people around the lakes in Georgia and Alabama. I bought my first “good” camera in 2016 and using it pretty much solidified my interests in photography. Before then, it was basically just cellphone photography that I did (mostly for fun and because all I had was my cellphone cameras). This site is my “journal” of photography served in the form of my self published digital (pdf) magazines. The magazines start from the very beginning of my photography with my “good” camera (which is Canon’s SX410 bridge camera for those interested to know). Since the magazines are focused on my older photography (for now until I catch up on all the editing of thousands of photos that are going into these magazines) I thought it would be nice to start these Day Trip posts to highlight my more recent photography that would be coming up in later issues of the magazines.

So how this will work is with each Day Trip post, I’ll provide the date, maybe a few short paragraphs about my photography on that day and then show you a few photos taken on that date. I think you’ll enjoy the work I have to show you.

So let’s get started with this first Day Trip post featuring photos I shot on Friday, April 26th, 2019.
